The country music singer-songwriter shares the secrets to this music capital.

Everybody loves Nashville because…

It’s a friendly place.

Best time to visit…

Late spring!

Best place to hear new music…

The Basement.

Music-lovers should not miss…

The Time Jumpers or anything at Station Inn.

My favorite Nashville singers…

Lee Ann Womack, RayLand Baxter.

Secret only a local would know…

The once-a-month flea market at the fairgrounds is super awesome.

My favorite restaurant…

It’s way too hard to pick. Nashville is home to some amazing food. Some of my faves include
pizza at Mafiaoza‘s, anything at Gojo Ethiopian, Watanabe Sushi and the wonderful and always-changing menu at The Yellow Porch.

A great place to grab a drink post-show…

Depends on where the show is. Santa’s Pub, probably.

My favorite place to shop…

I love Pangaea for reasonably-priced trinkets, jewelry and dresses. Also, Local Honey
for awesome vintage finds and Katy K for old-school Western pieces.

Under-the-radar neighborhoods…

Anywhere on the East side.

Something you can only get in Nashville…

A seat in the audience at the Ryman — one of the oldest and most special venues in the U.S.

My ideal day in Nashville includes…

Yoga, my dog, good food and good friends. And most likely those friends would be playing music!

On any given day here, you might see…

Me…in the biggest sunglasses I can find, doing any of the above, if not sleeping in.
